The inspiration behind the designs of Cuchara o Tenedor
are increasingly personal and genuine, representing beauty in everyday life in a quest for well-being, authenticity and calm.The minimalist lines reflect a slow lifestyle, greatly inspired by the sea and nature, combined with a passion for functional and artisanal design, as all pieces are handmade by me, creating a responsible and conscious business.
“ONE DROP AFTER ANOTHER FORMS THE OCEANS”
When I started creating pieces with cutlery, I did it as a hobby, together with my father, to create pieces to wear or to give to my friends and family; at that time, most of the pieces were very large. Over the years, my tastes and style have become more refined, as has my way of creating pieces, which is why I increasingly enjoy creating designs where the origin of the raw material is not apparent at first glance.
Creating minimalist and simple designs, whose symbolism be the knowledge that this piece is designed from recycled and recovered antique cutlery. In this way, I try to encourage appreciation and value for the reuse of things and raise awareness of the importance of our consumption, avoiding generating unnecessary waste.
RECYCLING AS THE MAIN ESSENCE OF THE PROJECT
Recycling is often associated with something “cheap” or of low value, but it doesn't have to be that way. At Cuchara o Tenedor, I try to create a project that is as sustainable as possible, being mindful of the manufacturing processes and making the most of them. I carry out most of the processes using hand tools., enjoying the artisanal process to convey that essence in each of my pieces.
Investing in recycling is one of the most effective and environmentally friendly ways to dispose of waste, and in this project, the raw material used comes from antique cutlery recycled, recovered and reused modifying the original functionality with which they were created, which makes the pursuit of sustainability a very important value for this one.
