CONSUME RESPONSIBLY

Today, I would like to share with you my view on the importance of our consumption and our everyday decisions.

Many of us can deliberate and weigh decisions for hours or even days, depending on the issue at hand, but there are many everyday actions that also deserve that moment of attention and awareness; often, it is in the simplest decisions that we will see the greatest changes.

We live in a capitalist world where globalisation has become a major problem. We have been raised to become accustomed to it and to normalise many senseless and unsustainable situations.

As consumers, we play a very important role in this system, so it is very important to have information and knowledge about what we buy, its origin and method of manufacture or resources used.

“WHERE YOU PUT YOUR ATTENTION, YOU PUT YOUR ENERGY.»

By choosing a piece created by hand by a small business owner, rewarding the originality and exclusivity of each piece, you are acting with Be mindful of your consumption. In fact, in most cases, the manufacturing processes, the quality and origin of the raw materials, and even the quality of life of the workers vary greatly between different brands or companies.

Therefore, you must be very aware that when it comes to shopping, our decisions as consumers can contribute to change, and by taking these steps, we can seek to balance that we so desperately need.

“BUY LESS, CHOOSE BETTER”

(Buy less, choose better)

When consuming clothing, food, cosmetics, etc., it is very important to be aware of the origin and manufacturing process of what you are buying; otherwise, even if unconsciously, you are promoting a type of non-cyclical evolution.

When it comes to food, with every purchase you make, you could be encouraging the consumption of unsustainable fishing or meat, i.e. excessive consumption, without considering all the consequences. Many consumers choose based on price, but if we take a broader view, the price we are paying is much higher, given the magnitude of everything we do not know.

SHOPPING IS A POLITICAL ACT  #ETHICALFASHION

In my opinion, and as sad as it may seem, we have to be aware that governments and large global companies are in favour of unsustainable consumption. Another example of this is the consumption of palm oil. Do you know all the damage it is causing?
