Have you ever lived on an island?
I have lived in Menorca for years and I can say that it never ceases to amaze me, its skies, its nature, its quality of life... When you live in a place so immersed in nature, you soak it all in: its changes, its seasons, the comings and goings of people, the changing seasons and the fruit and vegetables that belong to each one... it's amazing! I think that's why I like living in a place like this.

Not everything is a luxury when living in Menorca, as there are also times when it can be too «quiet» due to its lack of population throughout the year and the lack of events that a big city can offer on a daily basis. The lack of amenities such as concerts, museums, shops... or different things to do means that those of us who live here all year round enjoy its different landscapes and take different routes along the Cami de Cavalls to make the most of the day and the island. 

The island offers such diverse landscapes that it never ceases to impress me, even after so many years. For a long time now, it has given me something that I cannot quite put into words; the island has given me many things that I needed... And for a long time now, as I said, as soon as I set foot on the island, I feel at home. That's why I'm not going to tell you about some of the more secret places, as the island gradually becomes more and more crowded in summer, and we islanders prefer to keep some places to ourselves to maintain their tranquillity.

It is said that the island is made up of several parts, two very different geological regions (Tramuntana and Es Migjorn), separated by a line that runs from the port of Mahón to Cala Morell. The Tramontana region is characterised by the oldest materials on the island (fractured and folded rocks, forming an extraordinary network of terrain with sandstone, clay, etc.). The colours of the rocks and the relief allow us to identify 4 types of Menorcan landscapes: Dark Menorca, red Menorca, grey Menorca (these three would be part of the tramuntana region in the north of the island). The fourth Menorca is white Menorca in the Migjorn region, mainly filled with the island's most characteristic rock, marés.

Some of the most beautiful beaches in the north of the island are Pregonda Cove or Cavalleria, with its reddish sand beaches that are nothing like the area of Favaritx Lighthouse with their slate rocks that make them so distinctive, whereas in the south of the island, their crystal-clear waters contrast with their white sandy beaches. They are Saura or Macarelleta. 

The coastline is what attracts most attention on the island, but when you get to know it in depth and discover its interior, you will be captivated by places such as the island's ravines, enchanted-looking forests and salt flats teeming with animals living in the wild.

All of this inspires me to create, which is why every piece I make carries a little bit of this very special island.
